The word symbolizes the loss of the world and its resuscitation. Or, perhaps with greater precision, the word signifies the loss of many possible worlds and the salvaging of one, ephemerally actual. It is the threshold at which we surrender the unintelligible chaos of the ever-dividing real to the acuity of the name; discursive reduction and coherence at the price of immanence. The word constrains the throat of madness so that the human in turn may breathe. Yearning to distill the swarm of life but self-conscious of its failure, the word commands a multiplicity of itself; a fork in the path, a bifurcation, a displacement, the inauguration of commerce. The gesture of speech is the struggle to swathe in bandages the open wound of eternity which is the hemorrhage of time. The speaker must, within speech, unveil the impotence of the word, the poet must expose the word as inept, as a blurred mark that masquerades as an enclosure upon a radical outside. Dare we nail words onto a river? Crucify the word and it will surmount death; abandon it and it will wilt into silence. The word has two fates: to search for itself endlessly in the chaos in which it was conceived, and, to induce a trance burrowing into the numeric form of an atemporal intellect...but even as we articulate cautious devotion to the pythagorean realm of formal potentiation, in the mind of one who has not placed their heart on the balancing scale, the word finds itself once more in the service of infinite scission, never having left the terrain of the splintered voice. Abandon this.

Foris is a collage of anomalous archival material assembled between 2012-2013 and released on a split tape with Nick Kuepfer via Arachnidiscs records in February 2013.
